National Conference on Computing and Communication (NCCC 2011) organised by School of Computer Sciences was inaugurated by Prof.(Dr.) Rajan Gurukkal, Honourable Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi University on 26th May 2011. Prof.(Dr.) S.K Sinha,CEDT, IISC, Bangalore delivered the keynote address on “A brief History of Computing”. Dr. R Vijayakumar, Professor & HoD, School of Computer Sciences presided over the function. Prof.(Dr.) K.S Mohanachandra Panicker, Dean (Planning & Research),FISAT, Angamaly and Prof. (Dr.) varghese Paul, CUSAT felicitated the conference. Mrs. Bindu V. R, Associate Professor, School of Computer Sciences delivered the welcome speech and Mrs. Anuj Mohammed, Associate Professor, School of Computer Sciences proposed vote of thanks. 

Technical Sessions included:

1.  “KERA - A new Language for Synthetic Biology” by Prof.(Dr.) Achuth Sankar S.Nair, Director and Sri.Umesh, Lecturer, State Inter University Center of excellence in Bio-Informatics, University of Kerala

2. “Machine to Machine Communication" by Prof.(Dr.) K.S Mohanachandra Panicker, Dean (Planning & Research), FISAT, Angamaly 

3. “Cloud Computing” by Prof.(Dr.) Poulose Jacob, Dept.of Computer Science,CUSAT 

Research papers from various areas of computing and communication were presented in the conference. The paper presentation sessions were chaired by experts including Prof.(Dr.) Achuth Sankar S.Nair, Director, State Inter University Center of excellence in Bio-Informatics,University of Kerala, Prof. (Dr.) varghese Paul, CUSAT, Prof.(Dr.) K. V. Pramod, Dept. of Computer Applications, CUSAT, Prof. M. T. Rajappan Pillai, RIT, Kottayam and Prof.(Dr.) B.Kannan, Dept. of Computer Applications, CUSAT

The conference concluded on 27th with a valedictory session presided over by Dr. R Vijayakumar, Professor & HoD, School of Computer Science. Prof.(Dr.) Rajan Varughese, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi University delivered the valedictory address and gave away the prizes for best paper and certificates of participation. Mrs. K P Pushpalatha, Assistant Professor, School of Computer Sciences and Technical Chair of NCCC 2011 proposed vote of thanks.
